Tip #4: Making Spring Flowers:Snowdrops

When you make the snowdrop, use a bit of the ribbon to make a very small stitch near the base of the petals. This helps create the bulbous look. Now you need to add a small straight stitch at the tip of each petal with a green embroidery floss. To make the stems, twist the green ribbon very tight and make a short stem from the ground to a point above the flower. Then come up at the flower and stitch back to the stem. This will make the flower droop over, just like the real snowdrop. Now add the leaves. These look wonderful if you twist the once or twice, no more.

The petal for the snowdrop are three straight stitches, with the first stitch being over lapped by the other two.
