With a basic understanding of silk ribbon and how to manipulate it, Betty reveals to students just how easy it is to create a beautiful garden by combining basic stitches.
At the end of two days, participants complete an oval wood frame silk ribbon embroidery garden scene. They will have an opportunity to practice and perfect a variety of floral stitches, which may include:
During the first day, Betty dedicates time to review color and design as it applies to silk ribbon embroidery, and has students complete a sketch of their project. Stitching time consumes that remainder of the session, with time in the second afternoon spent adding special touches with beads and charms, then finishing and mounting the project.
Throughout the two days, Betty takes the opportunity to share inspirational ideas and samples with the students.
